Full-wave loop calculator

v1.0.0

Square, diamond, delta, rectangular or circular full-wave loop • starting conductor length and geometry

01 Frequency & shape
02 Construction
03 Length adjustment

1.00 starts from one free-space wavelength of conductor. Real full-wave loops often need trimming because height, wire insulation, feedpoint, supports and surroundings change resonance.

Shape changes the mechanical dimensions, not the total starting conductor length.

DIMENSIONED LAYOUT

Your loop

Starting circumference only. Feedpoint position, installation height, orientation and surroundings affect impedance, pattern and final resonant length.

Formula, assumptions & accuracy

Starting conductor length = λ × the entered loop factor. Square and diamond loops use four equal sides; a delta loop uses three equal sides; circular diameter = circumference / π. For a rectangle, the selected width-to-height ratio is combined with 2(W + H) = circumference.

The feedpoint is shown at the bottom only as a construction reference. This calculator does not predict feed impedance, gain, SWR or pattern.
